The Pirates Basketball Club is a social basketball club currently playing in the CMG Competition in Canberra. Founded in 2007 after acquiring a vacant CMG licence from the defunct Gorrilaz Basketball Club, the Pirates have developed a cult-like following both locally and overseas, representing innovation, good humour and good sportsmanship. Despite consistently making the play-offs, they have only ever made one grand-final appearance and have yet to win the CMG Cup, being narrowly defeated for the title back in 2008 against the Vikings. == History == The Gorillaz franchise ended in 2006 after a dismal 14-7 season that had as many spectacular off-court dramas as it did on the court. Acquiring the vacant licence to the CMG competition as well as several players from the Gorillaz the Pirates Basketball Club was formed. Under new management, the Pirates were put on a solid foundation quickly picking up quality players to their roster and quality sponsors to help expand the brand. The team prospered going 15-7 in their first two seasons before going 18-3 to reach the grand final against the Vikings in their third.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.piratesbc.com/about.php )〕 Although disappointed with the outcome, the Pirates have never looked back and have earned the respect of fans, officials and foes for their style and sportsmanship. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Pirates Basketball Club」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
